The Bank of Tanzania has officially issued a Public Notice on 2nd May 2025, reinforcing strict enforcement of the Foreign Currency (Use) Regulations, 2025:
✅ ALL local transactions and pricing must be exclusively in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS).
❌ Quoting, advertising, demanding, or accepting payments in foreign currency within Tanzania is strictly prohibited.

The general public, businesses, consumers, and other stakeholders are urged to promptly report any violations or non-compliance to:
